Personalized songs have come a long way.
Not very long ago, having an original song written about your relationship, your family, a milestone, or someone you’ve lost usually meant hiring a songwriter, vocalist, musicians, and a recording studio. The result could be incredible, but the price often put that kind of gift out of reach for most people.
Today, the landscape looks very different. There are traditional custom-song companies staffed by professional artists, inexpensive AI music generators that can produce a song in minutes, and a growing middle ground that combines new technology with human creative involvement.
Lyricraft Studios was built specifically for that middle ground. We believe technology can make personalized music dramatically more accessible without removing the human judgment that makes a deeply personal song actually feel personal.
The Two Extremes of the Custom-Song Market
At one end of the spectrum are premium custom-song services built around professional human recording artists. Companies such as Songfinch and Songlorious have built impressive businesses around that model. Songfinch currently starts at $179.99 for an original song performed by a professional artist, while Songlorious advertises custom songs beginning around $180, with longer songs costing more.
There is genuine value in that approach. A customer who specifically wants a traditional recording artist writing, performing, and recording their song may decide that the higher price is worth it.
At the other extreme are fully automated AI music generators. Give them a prompt, choose a style, and within minutes you may have something that sounds very impressive. But generating a song and crafting someone’s story into a song are not necessarily the same thing. A birthday joke might survive an automated prompt perfectly well. A memorial song involving decades of family memories, inside jokes, unusual pronunciations, relationships, and emotionally important details may need considerably more care.
That distinction is where Lyricraft lives.
So What Exactly Does Lyricraft Do Differently?
At Lyricraft Studios, the customer is not simply handing a paragraph to a machine and receiving whatever comes back. We work with you and your story. The lyrics are developed with 100% human involvement using the details, memories, personality, tone, and feedback provided by the customer. AI technology is then used as part of the musical arrangement and vocal production process. That combination allows us to create polished personalized songs without the traditional cost of hiring an entire recording team for every project.
That difference matters to us. A customer might tell us that their grandmother called everyone close to her “Daahlings,” drawn out in a very particular affectionate way. Maybe the family still laughs about the way she called McFlurries “McFloosies.” Maybe there was a ritual where she stood at the front door waving until every family member’s car disappeared down the road.
Those are not bullet points to dump into a prompt. Those are the song, pulled from human experiences. Our job is figuring out which details belong in a verse, which deserve to become a chorus, which should make somebody laugh through tears, and which deserve enough musical space to simply breathe.
We use technology, of course. But we also use judgment and human instinct.
We Are Not Trying to Pretend AI Does Not Exist
We think customers deserve honesty about how their song is made. AI technology is part of Lyricraft’s production process. We are not embarrassed about that, and we are not going to hide it behind vague language suggesting that an invisible orchestra has assembled in a recording studio somewhere in Los Angeles to produce your song.
Technology is precisely what makes it possible for us to offer highly personalized songs beginning at $39 rather than requiring customers to spend several hundred dollars. Our own FAQ describes the service we provide as a collaboration in which human lyricists develop the story and lyrics while AI assists with musical arrangements and vocals.
For comparison, another hybrid entrant, Song Tailor, currently starts at $39 and offers higher tiers at $89 and $149+, while explicitly incorporating human producer review into its upper packages. That tells us something important about where this market is headed: there is increasingly a space between “press a button” AI music and traditional artist-recorded custom songs.
That is a space we are very comfortable occupying.
Where the Money Goes
Our philosophy is pretty simple. We would rather charge for the amount of creative involvement, flexibility, runtime, and customer collaboration a project needs than artificially inflate the price simply because the final product is called a “custom song.” Lyricraft packages currently begin at $39 and scale according to song length and included creative options. Every package includes the finished song, complete lyrics, ownership rights, a personal song page, and unlimited downloads.
Higher tiers provide more room for longer stories, additional preview choices, revisions, and keepsake options. The goal is not to be the cheapest thing capable of producing music. The goal is to make a genuinely personal song accessible to someone who might never consider spending $180, $250, or several hundred dollars on one.
Sometimes the Spreadsheet Takes a Back Seat
There is another difference that is harder to put on a pricing table. Songs are often commissioned for the most emotional moments in people’s lives. Weddings. Anniversaries. Children. Parents. Milestones. Memorials. Those projects occasionally refuse to fit neatly into a product box. If a story needs another thirty seconds because cutting an important memory would make the song weaker, we would rather have that conversation than blindly chop the lyric at an arbitrary timestamp.
If something needs a little more care, we want the freedom to give it that care. That is not an algorithmic feature. It is simply how we believe creative work should be handled.
Which Kind of Custom Song Service Is Right for You?
There genuinely isn’t one correct answer to this question.
- If you specifically want a song written and performed by an identifiable professional recording artist, services such as Songfinch or Songlorious may be exactly what you are looking for. Their higher prices reflect a very different production model.
- If you simply want to experiment with AI music and enjoy creating things yourself, today’s consumer AI tools can be tremendous fun to play around with.
But if you want someone to work with your story, help shape the lyrics, make creative decisions with you, provide different directions to consider, revise the song when something does not quite land, and still keep the entire experience affordable, that is exactly what we built Lyricraft Studios to do, and to ultimately deliver you a polished, finished song that feels personal, intentional, and truly your own at an exceptional value.
We use technology, of course. But we also use judgment and human instinct. And we think the combination is considerably more interesting than either one by itself.
The Soundtrack of Your Life Should Still Sound Like Your Life
That is ultimately the standard we care about. A personalized song should contain details nobody else’s song could contain. It should make the recipient recognize themselves. It should trigger memories. Sometimes it should make them laugh. Sometimes it should make them cry. And ideally, years from now, hearing the opening notes should bring all of it rushing back. That is the part of custom songwriting that technology cannot decide for us.
Your story deserves more than a generic song with your name inserted into it.
At Lyricraft Studios, our job is to listen first, craft carefully, and use every tool available to turn your story into something worth keeping.
Because some gifts get forgotten. A custom song never does.
